A coastal relic living in Campbell River, BC., rattling around the beaches and the bush. Hobbies are anything nautical, unsuccesful prospecting and treasure hunting, gardening and photography. Have built and operated 5 commercial salmon/log salvage boats, and still love playing with tools, and messing about in boats.BIO"I have often thought in all the world, The saddest thing to be; Old admirals that feel the wind, But never put to sea." Al Stewart, fron Past, Present, and Future. After a lifetime of fishing, beachcombing,(log salvage) and generally messing about, health issues have put me on the beach for good. You never completely get the salt water out of your veins, though. This gallery gives me a chance to fish some memories out of shoe boxes and share them, something that's rapidly becoming another hobby. I began fishing for money at age 11, 6 if you count trading rockcod for popsicles. I hope you enjoy my reminiscing.

perfect blk & white, for this stormy shoot, perfection yet again, well color wouldn't do much good when one of these hit, there's no color, thats one things I don't miss, is the dampness I do miss the storms, well the ones that didn't last for days on end, this is beautifull shoot, it's so hard to get one when it's storming like that there, beautifull job thanks for shareing with us all, that kind of storm you thought you'd never get warm again, lol fireplace a must!!!

Wonderful scene. The shape of this tree is evidence of the wind in this area. Beautiful to see, but this kind of weather gets to your bones.

Now that is really bad weather, eh? That tree is amazing! Great shot, Jim!

A wonderful shot.... I must admit I did like the thumbnail too as an image... that tree is fascinating.... maybe play around with different crops to isolate the tree as the subject?
Lauravin
Nice one! Love a nice rainy, windy day every now and then! This captures that moment perfectly!
Nilla
Looks like it is really windy there by the looks of that tree! I can see whitecaps on the water too. We get gales here but they are usually associated with really hot weather and hurricanes. Excellent shot there, don't get blown away OK?

Why does this meke me think about a cold and strong wind?
