Description

I have always been fascinated by fossils and recreations of ancient and extinct life-forms. This month's Forum challenge gave me the incentive to try my own hand at making such a scene. Trying to recreate the color of long-gone creatures is guess work at best, so i thought I'd post this B&W version and let the viewer provide the colors in their own imagination. Thank you to eelie for the ammonite and snail shells. All other animals, and some corals were made in wings3D. Some corals were made with terrains and metaballs. Seaplants from 3dplant.com. Thank you for looking, I hope you enjoy!

Excellent image Dan! Would loved to have seen a colour version of this...though must admit that the BW render does give it an air of mystery. Love the caustics.
