Description

sorry to post 2 pics very similar in such a short time, im now more happy with the way this looks, tweaked the colours more to my liking and added a dead fella in the bg, his joint system is parented to a bunch of rigid bodys so he can be thrown at stuff and react realisticly, ie to get him in his current pose i used a combination of a gravity field and a radial field to slam him against the boxes/floor (im just having way to much fun doing that!), maya4 default renderer, thanks for taking a look / comments welcome

I would like it more if they had some kind of a body... :-)

if ya saw them move you would get why they have virtually no body mass, using their "tails" to balance they walk/run kinda like dinosaurs, theyre also good at pouncing, so lightweight was the way to go.

really sweet, I'm makin sum bots similer to these, did you model using nurbs/polys? for the guy, what did you mean "his joint system is parented to a bunch of rigid bodys so he can be thrown at stuff and react realisticly" is the gemometry a riged body or his skeleton?

my bot thingys are poly models. because the guy is bound to a skeleton (normal smooth bind) neither his geometry or his joints can be directly made into rigid bodys but by parenting each of his joints to an invisible rigid body system with 10 rigid bodys that approximate his body shape and are connected using constraints he can be made to react to dynamics, it works pretty much the same way as 3ds maxs ragdoll physics system/ or the one found in most new games. if i could make his entire body 1 big rigid body hed just bounce off stuff without any of his limbs bending etc... sorry for the long pointless explanation but i only just got up so am prone to babble... + would have sent thin in an IM if they were working!!
