The Battlemage Dernern could feel the mystical pull of the ancient Mirror of Passage as he made his way through the miles and miles of caverns and tunnels, twists and turns. His only companion was the light shinning from his magical mace. For days, Dernern traveled. When he was close to giving up, a pleasant voice whispered to him "You are near, dear mage. Give up now and never know of my power." This gave him more strength and desire, enough to push on, which he did. His persistence would payoff the following morning, although he would not know the time of day. To the world below, every minute is both midday and midnight, none of it matters. He came upon a small shrine inside the largest cavern he had seen. The shrine was made of some bone like substance and filled with bloodied spikes. When he drew close enough to the shrines entrance, he saw it. The mirror, set in the wall in the back of the shrine, reflecting back at him. So engrossed in the shrine was he, that he never noticed the goblin pixies (no making fun of the mighty goblin pixies) that stole out of the shadows. Even as the pixies gouged his eyes out, Dernern's gaze stayed fixed on the mirror. His last thought was of how he would be the most powerful mage in all of the lands. For years to come, many more adventurers would come to the mirror.
