Description

"Connections and ends of the ways of the life" From the series "Abstractions of the Nature" Bad news for the photographers, today I read in the web of the CNN the problems of Kodak. I don't like especially the digital photography and I prefer the "traditional" photography, more amusing and difficult compared with the FireWire connections or RAW files of the digital cameras. The process in the darkroom, with its smell, the darkness or the red light, is like a ceremony. Some wonderful moments of my life are attached to the mythical Tri-X, Plus-X, Ektachrome, HC110, D76

I know what you mean, I just bought my first digi-camera. Having a history in photography that goes back some 30 years, I too miss the lure of the darkroom. I love what you can do with a computer but nothing compares to the more traditional method. Just hard to beat Plus-x, Selectol/Dektol and Potriga Rapid! btw: EXCELLENT PHOTO!

this is a beautiful shot... the colors are so strong and... almost alive. :) and there is such a contrast between that and the fragile feeling this image conveys. fantstic work of art. :)

I cant imagine giving up film and going completely digital, either. I love working in the darkroom. So even though Ireally am looking forward to getting my Rebel, I sure won't stop shooting film. Your image is truly wonderful, Francesc. Your ability to express your thoughts and emotions through your photos never fails to impress me. V

thats an excellent composition my friend. :O) and pardon me, I din't understand what the trouble with kodak digi? I use one so would like to know about it.:O)) As for the nostalgia about the dark room and the ceremony, I think I can well understand what you mean , having been there for so long, you can tell it better and I can understand your feelings about it too. I always loved photography but I couldnt afford the film rolls and the dark rooms are secrets to me, never know what went on there. So, the digi cams are more or less like a blessing for people like me I guess but I think we can never compete with the masters of the trade, you will always rule.:o))

this is one of those images that bring such serene beauty to the senses, the pureness of life in it's most simpliest of forms, reaching out to touch us... a very moving image, true perfection,... i cannot see the darkroom & film ever disappearing, as long as there is some demand the resources will be made available ... hmmmm, smell the fix! :]

As i did never use film, i can't say to much about you being worried about Kodak .. on the other hand, what you're telling about your darkroom applies very much to my experience in my digital darkroom, called potatoshop. So i just hope, they can solve their probs, whatever they may be.
Wonderful shot fitting so very well to the words you've added. Thanks for sharing and a ... naaahhh .. you'll know g

This is such a gorgeous and thoughtful work. The ways of live... long and winding, ramified and ending... a perfect presentation! Never found a title as fitting as this one! Can understand your melancholy, have been familiar to the dark room and the ceremony... but left it all behind when I've moved years ago :o( Thanks for sharing!

You know, I like to photograph "alive" photo, though now I study to do high enough technical courses on the digital cam... Kodak - unconditional classics, I can not argue, when I photograph on film, it certainly - Kogak! But.... As it told in one of my favourite cartoons: "Tomorrow will be. Better." :-) Great picture!

As always, you turn a seemingly mundane subject into a beautiful piece of art. I can't get enough of your vision. Awesome!

True Enaxian art, very fine capture and crop again! No mythical darkroom for me anymore, although you cold be more proud at a good result! The coinside is that internet gets fed up with ton's of digi's nowadays and it is just the beginning!

what simple subject, yet such beauty as always the color's are so beautifull, the sticks, there shapes, textures,it's like nature asleep, but even as she sleeps she still has so much for you to learn,so much to offer,as in life itself, this is perfection once again, Francesc I love it,as I love all your art,boy do you have an ever growing fan base, lol thats wonderfull to see, everyone should see such beauty that you create @-}-- @-}-- a few rose for you,I miss developing my own photo's,watching your own creations come to life knowing that you have complete control, lol sometimes you get a nice suprise to ,thanks for another smile,it's been a really rough few days,my lungs are getting infectted again,I've been trying to rest got bit frusrateted, with another infection setting in so fast after just getting over the other ones, well I had a few days of feeling not to bad,so thats really good, but thanks for the helping hand huge hugs!!!!!!!!!!!

An excellent image with some very moving words! I too understand your fears of Kodak starting to pull some of their film cameras and accessories. This does relate to your depiction of this shot, in a way it is the beginning of the ending of an era, that hopefully will be a long long time in coming. I have always loved my film cameras and once I started getting back into photography via Digital, I found myself shooting more rolls of film then ever and putting that digi cam down more often. Let us hope that this is not the beginning of the end. I surely don't think it is, but you have to ask yourself what is next? I can not imagine a life without my 35mm's just as your photo depicts, I can not imagine my life without my loved ones either. Thank you for this wonderful image and your thoughts!

i am a 3d artist myself. 8i work on 3d max and i use textures that rely on the use of digital cameras, but i prefer the quality you can get from film better. i haven't read the actual news of kodak, but from what i am reading here is they aren't using film anymore. i think it would be ridiculous to do that. enax thank you for the image and we all should show that film should be here to stay.

I am impressed with how you have interpreted/conjured the meaning of this image. The art of the true darkroom will eventually be lost like an ancient language. I am a digital baby so I will never know the true essence of the darkroom.

Yeah, you cant stop progress ;) And, al the chemicals are polution aswell as the paper its printed on. On top of that its very bad for my back to work in a dark room, I dont like the smells, they give me a headache. :) So, digital is right for me. But I love youre works, wether its analog or digitaly produced, tis the man behind the cam and the idear that matters. The rest is a mather of time. 200 years ago you would have been a painter orso :)

Excellent image!!! I know how you feel about the use of film coming to an end ( and it definantly is.....) I spent 20 years painting signs , now they are all done by computers and I have a hard time even finding suppies due to the companies not selling enough to warrant producing them.....
