Description

A very experimental drive the U.P. develops is the K.K.D.W. drive (Kaluza-Klein-Dimension-Weaver).It is based on the Kaluza-Klein Theory where space/time has not just the 4 Dimensions we expierence, but at least 5. As Einstein has allready formulated light is also bent and attracted by gravity and thus moves along the Space/Timelines in a weird wrapped way. In the Kaluza-Klein wire-world theory this would be similar to a wire wrapped spiraly around a stick picturaly speaking. One imidiately sees the way the light describes is not the shortest way, the shortest way to go would be directly through the Stick and not spiraly around it. The problem is to get access to that 5th dimention of which we are not aware because its supposed to be very small considerd to the others(It would be the diameter of the stick). Since according to the Kaluza-Klein theories Gravity is the only force of nature and all others are illusions that are generated by gravity that is taking shortcuts through other dimensions it takes Gravitational forces to manipulate that dimensional stucture. The K.K.D.W. does that by unfolding the space time lines via large Spiderweblike gravitational emitters weaving them along the ship thus taking that very shortcut. A similar Emitter at the back of the ship closes the artificial dimension rupture as to make navigation save for other ships. Enjoy Dj P.S. The involved Physics is taken out of a book by "Joao Magueijo" called "Faster than the speed of light". It is written very funny, for a Physicsbook.. unfortunately i didnt understand half of whats written and i surely got mixed up with the theories loooooooooooooooool. But i extracted enough names and half-knowledge to develop a new kind of drive seeming logical to the amateur at a fist glance.. lol Darn Physics

It's a purdy image... but I have no idea what all that Kaluza-Shmooza was all about, buddy. The vessel seems to be well fitted to do what it's supposed to be doing, and I guess that's all that matters. :o)

Ohhh goody - some light reading. :-) I will look that up, first thing next year - or the year after ... still though; the ship and the lighting is terrific.

Very nicely done! I will have to check out that book when I'm finished reading the books i'm on right now, sounds interesting.

Interesting concept for a ship and FTL drive. I like the subtle color effects on the end of the background rays.

Excellent ! Realy impression of high, extra-dimensional speed. I know this theory well and I find it very realistic and very interesting.

Super design and effects! Perhaps that 5th dimension is the Spiritual realm! A relief to know that the stern closes the dimensional rupture :) !!!
