Description

Maybe it's a basic human need to communicate, but I'm always amazed at how many forms the Innuit style Inookshook takes. This is along an old logging road, miles from nowhere. A stump, and a few rocks, and you have proof of someone's existence. Thanks for looking, comments welcome.

when i worked at the park, there was always some sign of the need to mark it to say, Kilroy was here... we did not like them marking the walls of the cave though... this is different , among the moss & beauty , a sculpture & tribute to nature... cool shot :]

Jim this is a beautiful image! Love the greens of the moss! The stump and the rocks do appear as some kind of sculpture! Thank you for this image! :)

I have to say that this is one of your best along with Avalon. This conveys so much of who was there before, even the atmosphere makes my screen misty! This is something I would love to see for real and touch it and feel what the ancestors did. Go back sometime Jim and get closer to it and see if you can capture that essence...on the cam and in your soul. Regards, DA

you'll find the same thing along some of the trails here and i'd always wondered at them. i enjoy the "expressions" and had often thought this had to originate from some older, more ancient form. now i know thanks to you my friend. excellent work!!
