Description
When the thief had identified Ali Baba's house he marked it with a red X on the door. A clever slave in Ali Baba's household saw the mark and being suspicious, placed a similar mark on every door on the street. When the leader of the thieves could not tell which house to raid he killed the thief who left the mark and had the cobbler retrace his steps again. After he had Ali's house identified he returned disguised as an olive oil merchant, with his men hidden in oil jars. Ali Baba, always friendly to working men invited him in to rest for the night.
