While Ali Baba and the leader of the thieves were eating dinner the clever slave girl Morgantina attemted to sample the merchants oil. When she lifted the lid of a pot she found a thief asking if it were time to attack. She found all the pots but one held a thief. She then filled a huge pot with oil and heated it to a boil. Then Morgantina poured a pot of boiling oil over the heads of each of the thieves in the pots, killing them all. When the leader of the thieves came out to realease his men to attack Ali Baba'a household he found his men all dead and fled into the night. Morgantina was rewarded for her deed by becoming a free member of the household.
