Description

*Whenever I create, I am offering to you a part of my spirit to investigate.* -------------- Photoshop, 6 layers, from this this picture of mine, 1 hour work. For the current Theme "Creation, Beginning, Rebirth" Modulation of tonal range courtesy of Synapse and crrunchyfrog's advice and help :) (love you angels :)) -------------- This is my proper take at January Theme after the casual (someway) inclusion into it of my previous piece, "Your Last Rose". The concept is self evident, and my words above just re-state it... Note that the"texture" that reminds of a canvas is a note to remind of my love for painting with oils, that is always my favourite medium. Talkin back about my statement, wheter that might be conscious, ambigous, openly accepted and researched or contrariwise disguised, hidden, refused or dismissed EVERY offspring of creativity (I'd never use easily the term "art", you know how picky I am about that) shows the creator's soul. With the person's burden, barriers, mistakes and misconcepts(or lies even) but also with his (hers) outbursts of vitalism, ideas and hopes. Creativity is a therapy for the self, offered to others too as element to ponder. Creativity is something precious that everyone possesses, in different ways, but it exists within everyone, and it's a treasure we should always relate to, cos to express it just makes life better, and I mean every kind of life, even the very uneasy one. Is every creativity art? No way,art is certainly not merely creativity: art stands above, way above that and it takes creativity in among many others elements to be considerated. But that's not subject of the theme nor of this piece (and luckely, as I couldn't do "art" in the high sense I define art...),so I will just shut up and let you enjoy this if you please. :)Hugs:)

Someday I would like to hear how you define art. The artist here, looking at her reflection and the world around her, sees how she fits in, changes the immediate world in color and texture, and presents her vision for others to see and think about. Is all creation art? Do the past works of her life fit with the new work, as the portraits in the lower right do here?

Sono assolutamente d'accordo,Meli. Grazie per offrirci i tuoi bellissimi disegni da contemplare. Tra parentesi, se mai tenessi una mostra dei tuoi disegni, questa immagine sarebbe perfetta come poster. :)

We need to create as much as we need air, food and water. It is a part of the human condition, a devine part. Not all create art but, all are creaters. Great job Meli, love your face in this!

I'd like to say something more... Is it so very important if something is art or not? Creativeness, bringing joy and happiness, all kinds of emotions, conversation... Meli, you can really talk about very important questions:-D

As you know my dear, I couldn't agree more either! ;-) hugest hugs It's a typically intimate work of yours, love the colour scheme (ahem) but just not sure about the typography, I like the placement of the words but not the font and mixture of upper and lower case... this all comes with practice though, my earliest experiments with typography at art college were pitiful ;-) Thanks for sharing this - and early too hugs :-)

In a world that sees beeanie babies and cabbage patch kids as creative and embryos as refuse, art must pull it's own weight. There is a tendency to dismiss kinetic and dynamic things like animations and mobiles as digressions. Sculpture must leap to impersonation of Gods to be accepted. Then there is the canvas and the poster and the photograph flattened as decoration for a wall that is taken beyond a frame, given projection into interior spaces filled with salient wonders. A head in a crystal ball could be a dream of a princess. Lime is a suitable medium for expression. The wall is made clean.

Meli, you've done again! I bow to you and your creativity. From your images to your words you have such an elegant way of being self-expressive. What makes that so special is that it comes from the heart. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and visions. All is pure and true.
