Apophysis 2.0 beta 14 and PSP with Super Blade Pro.
I just found an awesome, extremely easy way to make backgrounds for apophysis images~ much easier and better than painting them in by hand. As soon as I have the time I will post a tutorial.
This image is dedicated to EVERYONE here in the fractal galleries~ you are all always so friendly and encouraging. I know I've said to a few of you that this is the friendliest area of Renderosity, and definitely now my favorite place to post. :)

The light appears to come from within and without at once. Inticate forms hide inside. Great shadow between the object and the background. Very cool image.
