Description
A Eagle flys by, looking for a place to watch. The Scorpion and Eagle do not see each other.
Sycamore Canyon is a wilderness area. No roads, no motors of any type.
Access is from the Williams area or from the south. It is a walking area only.
Water is found after a rain, carry all you can.
Scorpions and rattle snakes call this place home, many of them.
You can hike the canyon floor but there are a lot of places you can not get through due to the heavy brush.Detour is the by word here.
There are no trails going down into the canyon, just steep rugged sharp rocks, brush and snakes.
The canyon has many offshoots, some are box and others lead out, but you won't make it.
This is one of the most rugged canyons around. It is overgrown to the max.
They are a few ruins, a couple of small stone cabins and 2 mills.
During the 30's a few miners prospected this canyon and found no gold, but then we have those 2 old mills there must be some gold here.
The Apache Chief Geronimo always said there was a lot of gold here and even tried to bargain his freedom for the location.
You always have to wonder because in 1947 a prospector came out near dead with some ore worth $750.00
This is not a place for anyone not in good shape. Bring water, lots of water.

Really like the colors here Frank, the terrain is super, and the eagle is a fantastic touch. Wife told me she wanted some critters added to my stuff, so reckon I will be doing that in the next few days.

Great pov - love the natural way the Eagle's soaring. Brilliant postwork again, and superb lighting - nice bit of haze in the background. Excellent work.

Frank, you need to e-mail some of these beautiful works to Dotthy. She does these kinds of pictures also. This particular work is absolutely gorgeous. It reminds me of the Arizona desert inthe springtime. I must vote.

The mountains and the canyon look REALLY nice, very real. I love your eagle. Your scorpion is huge! I hope the real ones aren't that large! LOL I always take plenty of water when I hike. It weighs half as much as I do. I love your story as always.
