Description

Effigy is a turn of sorts for me. I want to do 3D CG work, but I want to experiment with traditional media as well. This is the first attempt at this. It is based loosely on Gustav Klimts style, especially his painting "Nude Veritas". It was rendered at 11" X 17" @ 300 dpi, then printed out to fit an 8.5" X 11" piece of paper. I then inked and painted directly on the small print out. My initial goal was to ink on acetate (Dura-Lar), but it was on back order so I decided to experiment directly on the smaller piece. It was inked with Micron 05 and Micron Brush Pens (I really like the Brush pen!), and the metallics were interestingly enough childrens gel pens. The artwork was then scanned back into the computer and composited with the original 3D piece

That sounds like it took some time. 5 microns!? How do you really see your strokes? That's where all the time seems to be. This is a good piece of work here. No complaints from me. Wow 5 microns I'm stuck on that.

I am pretty loose with my .05 Micron, and I usually just use it for detail work, leaving the greatest amount of work to my Brush Pen. THanks! pjc
