If you are trying to get the effect of the light coming from the lamp, I would first get rid of the reflective floor so you can more easily see the light and it's effect on the room. Well, that is where I would start.

yea, i'd agree with nivekkev. Why not display it on a small circular table. That doesn't have to be all that shiny. Plus it'd add more interest to the image... Just a thought. But i like that lamp anyway, wish i could have it in my room!
