Description

Ok, here's what I managed to do: 1~ I applied a sharpen filter to the whole image. This brought out the spirals in the foreground a bit more. 2~ I painted over the bright spot in the center bottom of the background, right at the water line. 3~ I softened the background, blurring it a little. 4~ I desaturated the background by a few degrees. 5~ I used the smear tool to blur the background a bit more. 6~ I tried to put in some more color (blues and greens), but it just looked yucky. :) Any more suggestions from anyone? I'm really enjoying this! Thanks guys! Original Image Here

Beautifully done! The softening of the background really gets the spirals to "pop". Nice job!

This is a great piece. I am thinking that there would be more depth if each of the spiral flames were progressively darker. A slight change to the gradient on each of the duplicate flames might make it more interesting too. That's not to say that I don't really enjoy this image. It's a beauty.

Beautiful density in these flames, and overall excellent composition. The placement of the spirals is great, your water ripples... they looks a lot more like molten steel rather than water, i absolutely love that effect. Great work!
