Description
This image is dedicated to Valentina. The textures in your work "All equal in front of Death" and "Don't hurt us !" gave me the inspiration to try this. Thank you. :)
During 79 AD, the volcano Vesuvius erupted raining fire and ash down on the two flourishing towns of Pompei and Herculaneum.
Pictures of the ash covered remains of those caught in the midst of the mountain's fury have stuck with me ever since I saw them as a child. To all the victims of natural disasters around the world and throughout the ages, you shall not be forgotten.
By way of a technical note, there were a lot of render errors that left speckles of black on this image. While I used Photoshop to remove the larger and more jarring areas, many of those patches remain and I think add to the image. Serendipity is my ally! Also, it was nice to find a use for the old Poser 2 hair (it looked petrified to begin with) and create my first Poser bump map! :) The only real "work" was to scale the texture to different sizes for best effect and in creating the poses. I must thank Mayang for the wonderful texture! You can find a host of amazing textures at the address below:

Wow, wow and wow! Excruciatingly beautiful. A lovely tribute. The figures of Pompeii are certainly impossible to forget (both in sleep and wake) and you have duplicated their fascination here. Congratulations on the lovely piece.

Ah, this is wonderful. History is such a great thing to draw inspiration from and you have done a superb job at it. This image make me feel the same way i did when i first saw the pompei ash remains. Awe struck, mortified, and yet filled with some strange peace. this is perfect.
