My name is Matthew Yetter.
I'm an optician turned Vietnamese linguist turned cell phone salesman turned casino worker turned website developer and 3D animator. And then I have a few really wild plans for beyond that... As for art, it's a funny thing but I can't paint or draw in two dimensions worth a damn. I live in Las Vegas, Nevada.
In a completely unexpected twist, I now work for Pixologic, the makers of ZBrush.

Oh my! I have been using Terragen scince vs 2.0 or something. Right now, I have vs 8.11. The starry sky in your image, is that in Terragen now? The commercial version? Beautiful work! Both LadyLight and myself love and use Terragen for many background landscapes in our art. It does gorgeous skies! =)

Thank you! I've only been using Terragen for a day so far, and am still experimenting to find out what it's capable of. I've already learned that in order to really get a good realism in the landscape, you have to put in a ton of different textures and really take control over where the program puts them. But I'm truly blown away by what the program can do in a very short period of time. Especially with realistic atmosphere effects. As far as the starfield goes, I have to confess that it's the one bit of post render work that I've done here. I used a program called Universe from www.diardsoftware.com to generate a basic starscape. Then I used a masking effect to merge it with the Terragen image.
