Description
One of the things that consistently bothers me about the characters in games is the lack of detail in the faces and sometimes their hair. It just seems to me that great graphics should also imply great facial characteristics because it adds so much to the realism of the characters. I know it is possible because anyone who uses Poser knows that with some postwork in another program such as PSP8 or something like it, this very thing can be accomplished. There are MANY WONDERFUL ARTISTS here at Renderosity who do this very thing...for instance..."antje" always does such wonderful work in this area.
Anyway, one of the things I really like to work on is incorporating these very details in my sketches. I hope this comes across in my work.
The sketch was referenced by a wallpaper from the "Champions of Norrath" site. The pencils I used were, 5H, H, HB and 2 B. I also used mechanical pencils on the hair because I feel it give me greater control on how the hair looks and they give me the opportunity to work in more detail. The frame, background, gold roses, eye and soft focus were done with PSP8.
Many thanks to SirJohn for the heads up on this game and the images. I hope you like it and I do thank you for stopping by!
God Bless You All!...Cheryl

Fantastic character drawing and your shading is right on the mark as was your other pic. Norrath is in EverQuest, eh? Don't play a lot of games, but seem to remember that one. Your drawing has gotten so much better with each passing image!

Superb image Cheryl!! Your artwork is just amazing! Brava for you!

Awesome work! Perhaps you could make the reflection of the light source in her eyes a bit brighter (the white spot). This would increase the realism. But also without that you did a wonderful job!

Cheryl young lady, your work whether in color (which I so admire that step by you) or in your black and white imagery have both grown so beautifully into an adulthood seldom seen with growing artists. You have captured a true mysticism within this woman's eyes that I almost feel threatened. Her outstretched hand (with great foreshortening by the way) appears ready to cast her spell and turn me into a croak....croa-oooook . My vote!

YYYYESSSS!!! I knew this one was coming... but I did not know what to expect. This one is so cool it blew me back into my chair when it opened up. Fantastic work Cheryl, I am glad you chose to do this. By the way, have you played the game yet? For some reason it still seems to gobble up chunks of my free time! Kudos my dear friend.
