Description

Where are we? Still in Quebec City, but now we are on the north side of the old city. I have no idea what these buildings are. The city walls we are walking along go down the stairs to a lower portion of the fortifications, but this is a strange neighborhood. The walking surface is a boardwalk-like thing and the lights are pretty fancy for what looks like old storage buildings with all sorts of interesting features. Modern windows suggest they are still in use. Old windows and maybe doors are bricked up. That sure looks like a modern garage door. The old stonework is marvelous and the roof looks like it's seen a summer or more, but there is still an air of very recent use about it all. Those holes in the wall look like they could have held supports for more flooring/decking or a roof. A very mysterious place and a good reason to pick up a tour guide the next time. Why do I always forget the guide books!?!? As we move on, the walls will get lower but still be high enough to be defensible --- to people armed with flintlocks anyway. We tourists get past all defenses! Enjoy; thanks for viewing.

You've documented this lovely old city with such an artist's skill for capturing a time + place. It almost seem ghost-like in most of the shots... remarkable captures of an old place in a modern time...
