Description

Xanthos, Turkey Apparently, when the ancient city of Xanthos found itself under seige, the entire population commited suicide rather than surrender. ~*~ When wandering about these amphitheatres in Turkey (they seem to be everywhere) its easy to forget what dreadful things must have gone on there many centuries ago.

Yes sometimes we forget the past and what must of happened in all these places. Great shot of this photogenic historical place.

I love amphitheatres...the construction was amazing...just think of the plays that would have been shown here.

Have visited a couple of those places... also in Turkey :o) Yep your absolutely right... when wandering about these amphitheatres its easy to forget what dreadful things must have gone on there many centuries ago.
