Description

Just Another day in the Desert. The "Boys" are on the other side of the hills, I saw them yesterday. Was out prospecting this morning and it got hot pretty fast, so I decided to take a nap in my tent. I still wanted to get some swings with the metal detector before dark, but after the heat went down. A Eagles cry woke me up. Then I heard 2 more. When I heard the cry of a Red Tail Hawk I though I'd check out what was going on. I slipped the tent fly open and saw 2 Eagles flying, and one sitting on a saguaro with a Hawk sitting on the far one. Maybe the Eagles didn't like the hawk in their area. Then I saw the Eagles were looking at something on the ground. I spotted a Coral Snake and 3 rabbits. Now the rabbits didn't have to worry about the snake cause they are too big for the snake, but the snake and the rabbits do have to worry about the 3 eagles and 1 Hawk.. Well The snake made it, The Red Tail missed him. 2 of the Rabbits panicked and the Eagles got them. The 3rd rabbit stayed right there not moving for at least a hr, then off he went. By the time all this was done it was too late to head back to the hills. You don't want to walk the desert at night if you don't have to. A lost afternoon?? No, What I saw was breath taking. The Desert with all it's unfriendly plants and hostile landscape is a beautiful place. The survival and death, is just nature doing what she does best. Everything is as it should be in this land of twisted beauty.. Vistapro and psp for post.

Excellent story and excellent image Frank! You did a terrific job on the terrain especially. I like that texture on the mountains. The eagles look so regal too! Nice one :)
