Description

Dedicated to the one and only Gun Legler (gunsan), shown here enjoying a lazy afternoon with her Simon beneath the Dreaming Tree. (And if you don't see Gun like this, maybe you need to take a closer look.) :) Gun, every day, you bring your light to the 2D Graphics forum and that light shines on everyone lucky enough to share that virtual space with you. You bring your thoughtful and often mystical works here to the gallery, and everyone who views them goes away with a little something special added to their lives. Thank you for all of this and just for being the amazing beautiful woman you are. It was indeed a joy to paint you. :) ~*~*~*~ When I was growing up my best friend was a unicorn The others smiled at me and called me crazy But I was not upset by knowing I did not conform I always thought their seeing must be hazy. The unicorn and I would while away the hours Playing, dancing and romancing in the wild flowers And we'd sing Seeing is believing in the things you see Loving is believing in the ones you love. When I was seventeen my best friend was the northern star The others asked why I was always dreaming When I did not reply I found my thoughts were very far Away from daily hurts and fears and scheming. The northern star and I would share our dreams together Laughing, sighing, sometimes crying, in all kinds of weather And we'd sing Seeing is believing in the things you see Loving is believing in the ones you love. Seeing is believing in the things you see Loving is believing in the ones you love. And now that I am grown, my best friend lives inside of me The others smile at me and call me crazy But I am not upset, for long ago I found the key I've always known their seeing must be hazy. Oh Varian, how could I thank you for this marvel you bring to me? This make my eyes flowing over. You make me look beyond the greyhaired woman I meet in the mirror, and go inside, and yes, there she is, the ever living part of me, young at heart and with peace in mind sitting under that magic tree. And Simon is there too, just as he is in my life. You know, water has always been an essential part of my life, a lifegiving and peacegiving part of Mother Earth, that cleanses the mind from that which is just junk. The whole scene radiates peace, and peace in mind is what I wish and strive for. I send you a big warm hug, this make my day and many days onward!
