Description
Here is a collage of images from the Lamanai and Chacchoban ruins. The central image is of a giant mask that was discovered at a small temple in Lamanai. It has been partial restored and is covered by corrugated fiberglass which is giving it that greenish cast. To give you an idea of the scale, that's 6ft. me next to it in the small photo at the bottom right, taken by my wife Lisa. It is one of only a few to survive the centuries. The top left and right images are views of either side of the mask temple, with my lovely wife on the right.
The bottom left and rightmost photos are of unexcavated temples and other ruins at the Chacchoban site. We walked through the jungle and things I thought were hills turned out to be temples they haven't got around to excavating yet...neat!
