2D Forum April Theme: Identity ~ Identity # 1 The Watcher
While all about seemingly crumbles, you stand alone, removed but not untouched by it all, observing the unfolding of you know not what. Puzzled and unable to fathom exactly what is going on, you wish you could turn your eyes, but are compelled to witness events beyond your control...you are the watcher.

There is something about the attitude of the figure, casual & detached as if they happened there by chance but no longer have a choice being compelled to watch events unfold... looking at the image has a similar effect on me, then that horizonatal keeps drawing me back to the figure again... striking image with hidden subtleties!

Scary and surreal, the watcher is totally alone in the disintegrating world, just stands there. Powerful image Cam!

This takes me back to 9-11...all I could do was watch the TV screen as the events unfolded and saw the towers come down, one after the other. No possibility of doing anything, and unable to look away.

Hi Cameron, Yes this is so true, and not only do you have to watch all life's events, you have also to watch over the events of all the people in 2d gallery. Such a responsibility! A picture perfect image of what life has become.

all those fires and smokes... well scary is a right word - surreal too - the blue sky and the sunny mood - irritates me - gives that touch of surreality... great thing... and perfect for the theme...

The watcher seems calm enough... but then since childhood he's been seeing this sort of thing everyday, twice a day on the news, in most movies, books, and most other forms of "entertainment" No wonder he seems detached from the scene.

The identity of a watcher is horrible, like so many before have said. So impressive, so scary picture. I have that feeling so often... so helpless, so without any chance to help or influence.

Excellent artwork here!!we are watcher of this world and what we see is only a dorp of this ocean,some people see the world romantic,polotic,dramatic or...many other ways As you said we are only watcher and our life's time is going too!!Excellent piece of art!!
