Description

I met this guy during lunch-break about two weeks ago. Although he's not Hamburg's famous "Swanee" who feel in love with a swan-lookalike-pedalo three years ago and hasn't left its side since, he caught my eye with the expression on his face.
On the one hand I want to share this pic with you on the other hand I kind of feel like Tom when saying, that I'm not really satisfied with the way it turned out. Big difference is that his pics are still brilliant then and this one definitely isn't. No, this is not "fishing for compliments" - Mr. Swan was pretty far away, that's why the pic turned out too grainy and unsharp for my liking. The original also shows the whole animal - only the sun was so strong his body turned out completely white and would have hurt your eyes looking at it :-( So the head is all you get...

Who cares for the grain on a wonderful shot like this? That head turned out very well and the water looks almost like a soft plaid ;o. Love your great idea and love your beautiful image! hugz

hugz Drea. There are a lot of people out there, loving grain. Even i like it sometimes .. on this image for example. It lacks technical perfection, you're right ... but is that a must every time? To me, this works the way it is. And that's through the unusual pose, the wonderful blue water and the great cropping. It may not be your best posting, but it's a very good one. Thanks for sharing Drea!! :-)
PS: i'll post another grainy one soon :)

Would agree with your self assesment on this image Drea, but I must say technical aspects aside, it's still a lovely image. I like how the neck and head stands out from the beautiful background.

In this case it has forced you to make a great crop, where the grain adds to the textures:) I love the feel and the pose is wonderful...the title is perfect:) Don't be so hard on yourself...I like it:)
