Description

Well, here's a new image using my APU. As mentioned before, I modeled the APU (inspired by the ones in the Matrix) completely in Bryce. Some of the textures I used came from the fantastic site www.mayang.com. The man using the APU was imported from Poser. To be honest, I was disapointed to hear all of the negative comments I recieved from my last version of this image. It was ranked "needs improvement." After recieving some good advice from drawbridgep, I've chosen to no longer allow ratings. So there. :) I've done my best to improve the image (I've deleted the old one). About 12 (give or take) hours went into creating the model and image. (Which was hard to find between writting all my college term papers, but hey, what's more important?) If you all like this image, please post. It would help validate the time I spent on it, not mention to help enlarge my deflated ego. :(

I like it! Sorry, must have missed the original while it was there.. And this is just from Bryce primitives? Very nice piece of modelling. What's not to like?

I guess some people dont realize how much work u put in creating a model like that... I often check out the renderosity gallery because i am amazed by the creativity and effort people can put in 3D art. So its a pity there are people who say bluntly : ur model sux..... If they dont have anything constructive to say they better be silent. Anyway i checked ur gallery and ur doing a fine job! vote

Well the first one was too dark, but this one looks great,But uhh critical comments help you go back and make the image what it was meant to be in the first place.

I am amazed at your modeling. Great job. This image does remind me of a nit-pick I have with the movie however. These walking, massively-armed machines are obviously designed for combat. They have incredible firepower. And yet... there's the human operator sitting exposed right there front and center. No armored sheilding. Nothing. You don't need armor piercing explosive bullets or missiles to bring down this machine. A small barrage of .22 bullets should do the job nicely. I think that was cinematically an entertaining machine, but so-sooooo stupid in design.
