Description

Wisdom When I have ceased to break my wings Against the faultiness of things, And learned that compromises wait Behind each hardly opened gate, When I can look life in the eyes, Grown clam and very coldly wise, Life will have given me the Truth, And taken in exchange-my youth. *Sara Teasdale `````````````````````````````` The poem is for myself. And if it fits you, then it's for you too. My health is not good, never has been. I've wasted too much time breaking my wings, for things I can't change. For all those I love and have lost. You are in my heart forever. Life is today and I'm going to live it, with no regrets. Life is right now. Thank you for looking and many hugs to you all. You all are very special people. Now lets hear alot of nose from the comments. :O)

Wonderful image, very emotional. At first I thought "Why so sad?", but your notes say it all.
The poem has a cynical ring to it - not untrue, though! - but your own words are also wise, without any coldness. Let us never forget that life is worth living!

Leah, this is beautiful. I'd never heard that particular quote before, but it's so very true. We have a glass sliding door out to our patio, and the birds hurl themselves against it unless I keep the blinds down....so I keep the blinds down most of the time. I know the part about broken wings....in many aspects of life it's so true. Some times it hurts to care too much.

Just a gorgeous work and words! .... I,too, have 'been there, done that', and I'm 'guessing' many, many have, also? .... I wrote a poem, "I don't know why" sometime back I posted here .... acceptance doesn't mean you 'like' it, just that you 'acknowledge' it .... PEACE to you and your loved ones .... brian.

Right, comments you want, is it? Well, the image itself shows someone who is definitely not accepting the status quo. Despite the words below (which indicate a resigned acceptance), I see a natural born fighter, someone who will soldier on against all adversity. There is sadness, but there is still the sprit, the centre of self remaining. They may try to break your back on the wheel but you'll return, stronger than ever. Very powerful stuff you have created here.

Dearest Leah. Wisdom is a painful thing we learn mostly through pain and loss. Your words come at a time for me that I, too, need to stop beating my wings against that which I cannot change. Anger and bitterness take away all the sweetness that can still be found in life and loving. A preciious image and wise words to strengthen the heart and the spirit. :o) CC
