Description
They called to let us know there was a spot they wanted us to check out on the way to mars.
A large amount of energy from a empty spot in space.
No big thing, only 6,000,000 out of the way. Just a side Road in space.
When we got to where the reading's were coming from the ship started to spin.
When we woke up all our instruments were of by many days. Then again maybe the were not.
We cut our engines to save fuel and try to figure out where we were.
We sent many messages to earth.
Finally we got a answer to our 1st message. It took 11 hrs and 14 minutes to get back to us.
Grabbed the slide rule and found out we were at least a month of sundays away from the earth. The good news was we had enough fuel (used wisely) and food to get back to earth.
We told them what we could see and they told us to wait, they would get back to us.
As we had the fuel they wanted us to explore any of the planets we were near.
We picked the smallest as the easiest to take off from..
As soon as we landed we knew we made a mistake. The ship settled and then started to sink.
We tried to restart the engines but there were blocked by the sand. I gave the order to "bail out." As we were running away from the ship our own weight was breaking the surface and clouds of gas were erupting and bursting into flame.
Sitting on a ridge we watched the ship burst into flame and sink into the ground.
No way of contacting earth, no food, no water and we could not move off this ridge.
The air was unbreathable, a mixture of Methane and just enough O2 to burn.
The USAF did studies on water, sleep and food to see how long man could go with out.
Food was 87 days, Sleep was 109 hrs and water was 5 days.
Our suites will keep us alive till the lack of water over comes us..
Didn't even get a chance to say Good-bye.

Big bummer I sure would hate to go like that. To darn much time to think.
