Description
We were on our way back to earth, when this planet pinged on our LFR.
Got the fuel, and we are supposed to check them out.
Once we landed we were really surprised. From space this planet showed no ATM, but yet here we are with a nice orange sky, streaked with gray..
A lot of haze and long shadows.
The air is breathable, but leaves a tin/metal taste in your mouth.
The ground is firm, but soft. We took sample from some of the pillars and they crumbled like dust.
Nothing here matches our science. It's all so 180 out. Backwards.
Bill went off to the North and Jim went South. I went West and Larry went East.
Bob and John stayed with the ship..
This is where we screwed up. This planet has no north or South Pole.
The 4 of us have no idea where the ship is. These suites do not have a DIRF. We can talk to the ship but don't know which way to go..
Follow your old tracks?? There are none. The planet heals it self, it's surface, it's skin.
Bill made it back to the ship, so did Larry. I just spotted Jim. I yell for him to look right.
He sees me. Now we need to find the ship.
I call the ship and tell them to set off a flare. They fire the flare, the sky ignites with a flash and a roaring flame. The fire expands and shoots to earth
As the flame rushes down on top of us and the ship, I wonder "what caused that."
