Description

This image is the cover to Sonicjoy's debut CD (check it out at sonicjoy.ca). I've done a series of these bladed flowers and one of my other images with this particular flower was used on their demo, but I wanted something different for the full CD. It took some convincing, but once they saw the concept of the Urban Angel character planting the flower to light this dark alley, it just fit with the music. Originally this image was going to be done entirely in poser, however I had no end of problems with importing the alley model (everything kept losing its alignment to the other parts) so the final image was rendered in 3DS Max using the Bodystudio Plugin to host the poser figure and maintain all the textures. In the end it ended up being a composite of about 5 different images to get the lighting to work out correctly as I have had even more problems with Bodystudio unfortunately (crashes files saved with poser figures in them and lighting issues). Any way, after countless revisions and much cursing I got a result I was happy with. Hope you all like it. Credits: Victoria 3 and Hi Res Textures by DAZ; Short Messy Hair by Koz; Stormguards Armor by Lourdes (at DAZ); Treadz Boots by 3DWizard (at DAZ); Archon Wings by Darkworld Designs (at DAZ); Alleyway, dumpster and bladed flower by me (modelled in 3DS Max).

Fabulous CD cover art! I love that the buildings in the alleyway look like they could be churches or cathedrals - grey and bleak amongst the empty backstreet, howling wind and shuffling monotonal figures scurring home from work out of view. Please tell your wife that she has a beautiful voice and I wish Sonicjoy every success. :)
