Description
Another Urban Angel image. My wife always talks about wanting to be a beacon of light in the world, which I think the world needs ever more with each passing day. I think we have a tendency to think that changing the world requires big, dramatic actions, but we can learn a lesson from water in this regard. Given enough time, even drops of water, can pierce stone. Changing the world, making it a better place, happens because enough people bring good into it. Each little piece of radiance, from a piece of artwork, to a song, to helping out some stranger, to whatever else you give to the world rather than take from it, helps create a beacon of light to break the darkness. The Urban Angel personifies this idea, using a Bladed Flower to light her way. The Bladed Flower she holds has a photograph of a real flower taken by my wife within the globe at its centre. She captures the beauty of the natural world in her photographs in an amazing way and I wanted to bring this magic into the new symbol for her band Sonicjoy. The Bladed Flower was the result, providing a Beacon of Light to represent the ideals of their music and give a source of illumination for my artwork and the Angel within it. Hope this image brings a little bit of light to whoever sees it. Rendered in Poser 5. Victoria 3 and Hi Res Textures by DAZ; Short Messy Hair by Koz; Stormguards Armor by Lourdes (at DAZ); Archon Wings by Darkworld Designs (at DAZ); Dumpster and Bladed Flower by me (modelled in 3DS Max).

I am enjoying your artwork very much and I'm especially touched by your sentiment. It's so alarming that with all the innovations of technology, science and medicine to "improve" our lives, more and more the urban landscape seems spiritually dead. Fifty years of nuclear families and broken homes... no wonder we've lost our sense of community. So many people don't even know their neighbours. It's all about the empathy and the compassion people. Peace.

the world is immature. It will either mature over the years, or it will go into chaos.
