Description

This started as a test, hence the smallish size. I created the chess set ages ago with Bryce primitives(there's a version in my gallery), and while happy with the render, I wanted to try and create a more photorealistic render. So here it is. lit just with sunlight through a 100% transparent fake HDRI sphere. THe sun is lined up with the window in the photo and I've set the transparent map to be the same image. Rendered with high DOF and True Ambience. Took all day today and about 4 hours of yeserday to render. Might set it running on a full size version. (If I can be bothered) Thanks for looking. Hope I at least achieved a little photorealism.

Meant to mention this. No post at all. Just a slight crop, but that's all, nada, zip, nothing, zilch.

That lighting setup seems to work very nicely here. Are they still glass? Did you have TIR on?

Very photo realistik foreground but I would have gone for a more dialated effect in the background so it looks like it was taken from a 35mm.
