Description

. . . don't have to fade away. Members of a British Machine Gun Company pose with some trophies: German Maxim Guns. I got this photo from my mother-in-law recently. Her father is the dark-visaged man with the mussie just behind the fellows in the thumbnail. The worn expressions on their faces tell the same story I see in the portraits of General Grant. The haunted eyes can't forget the sights that most folk are lucky enough to never have to see . . . thanks to the sacrifices of the relatively few who do. He served for three years to return to a small village to work as a butcher. Enjoy; thanks for viewing. Thank those who served and those now carrying the torch.

Intessant ces vieilles photos de famille : certaines d'entre elles deviennent des page d'histoire.
