I am a developing artist working on improving my abilities to create beautiful digital landscape compositions. Without the help and suggestions of the many fellow artists in this community, it would be a long time before I reach the next level.
BIO
I am a retired procurement professional who has long had an interest in photography and painting; and, lately in computers and photorealistic natural landscapes. I hope to become more proficient and perfect my abilities to produce acceptable work. My experience in art started at a very early age when I would spend many hours sketching and painting. I had instruction at The Art Institute in Chicago, Illinois. I did some freelance work for Flying Models, Model Airplane News and Top Flite Models creating plans and illustrative construction sequences for magazines and kit models. I had spent more than 20 years designing, building and flying radio controlled model airplanes...a very rewarding hobby for me. During the 1970s, I spent 11 years in the hobby of "bonsai"; the Japanese art of miniature trees. In my first 7 tree entry in a contest, all 7 trees were awarded ribbons in various categories. Japanese landscaping became a passion for me where I completed a 3 year project creating a Japanese landscape around my home in Oak Forest, Illinois. I also did this work for several other people in our community. In 1987 I moved to Phoenix, Arizona where I currently make my home. The love of the American southwest and all its beauty is where I wanted to spend the rest of my life. Now that we have computers, digital cameras; and, Terragen; I'll have enough to do for a long, long time.

Yow - what a view! Superb texturing, terrain, sky, lighting, and not sure about the "wet" comment, because that gets tricky at best. It's all there, my friend!

Bravo on the changes Bob! Both versions are great! I'm glad you did not completely change the atmo. It is one of my favorites & has become part of your signature.:):):)

Bob this is fabulous! I find myself starring into this image because it is so realistic! The lighting is superb as usual and the pov too! The terrain and surface looks very made to perfection and the water is just right! V :)

its a very nice map, however from the height the camera is at the grassy texture looks a bit big creating the illusion that its closer than it really is. other than that its a beautiful piece!

Oh Bob! Let me call you 'Mahatma'! Only two of all your guests cry for some minor details and you just stand up and fix everything to perfection! I love this render! XLT+

This version is very nice, and so was the first! Don't know a lot about Terragen, but believe it has some limits/limitations, your work really pushes these hard. It is also great that you took the time to make a version with changes suggested by others. Excellent landscape!

Absolutely beautiful! Very much resembles the Verde River Valley as well. I love the surface and the sky. The river is probably too full :) But it's very good as well.
