Description

I was so excited making this image, heh. I always loved both the Enterprise D and the starbase used in some of the Star Trek movies. The Enterprise here is a mesh by Chris Setterington. I re-textured a few things, and added lights, to make the nacelles glow a bit. The Starbase is a mesh by Nico Weigand. The only thing I did to this was add about 300 little square (infinite) lights shining towards the surface, to simulate the effect of lit windows aboard the space station. Both meshes can be downloaded freely at http://trekmeshes.starfleet.ch Also, many many more ships :) I welcome your comments, criticisms and suggestions! Cheers~

Yup, what Phoe said.. need to somehow get some more contrast between your objects and the background stars, adding light (mild backlight?, mild lighting in general), some background (earth?) elements, etc might help develop this image.. Space stations are usually near stars, right.. there's a possible lighting source for you.. :)

I always think the opposite. Less light can work just as well. It's in space afterall. unless there's a star nearby, the light is only gonna come from the ship and station themselves. THat's one of the reasons in the movies they have spot light slighting the ship. Pointless in real life, but looks cool and lets you see the ships on screen. I say back light them and let the outline tell the story. We all know what the Enterprise looks like. OK, just waffling now. I like this picture!
