Description

The idea behind this illustration was to paint the picture in greyscale and then to compliment with a splash of red. Image copyright Spiral Direct 2004.

Did you do any prework in a 3d program for the background when you didi this, was curios on how you got the windo that perfect in scale and so.. The character is way col, and your idea, is really well executed.

I love the pose of the gargoyle, though I'm not sure of his (viewer's) left leg. I understand the kind of pose though ;) I love the skin toning and muscle definition as well as the veins. The color red really works in this piece, it gives it a devilish appeal. Kind of makes you wonder whether the real threat is inside the building.
