WOW! what an amazing responce, thank you ALL so much for your kind words. I'd love to have an opportunity to paint a few scenes from the book, because the above painting is a character concept, a starter piece done as a warm up for a larger painting, a second picture with more characters and a setting from the book..but I did'nt have time. If only there were more hours in a day......

Your Gandalf is great! But his face is so grim that I could expect him to be Saruman or even somebody worse... Anyway, the image is really great.
