Description

Aspasia was the woman of the great Athenian general Perikles at the Golden Age era of Athens.Aspasia's influence on great men such as Plato, Xenophon, Cicero, Plutarch, Athenaeus and of course Pericles is very evident in the manner in which these great men contribute much of their own knowledge to the influence of Aspasia. Most obviously Pericles is the one man that Aspasia most deeply influenced, not only by her knowledge but also due to the physical relationship that the two had.Pericles ability to orate is greatly credited to Aspasia. Philosopher Socrates also credits Aspasia as one of his own instructors of rhetoric. --------------------------------------- A personal tribute to one of the greatest women of all times... --------------------------------------- Bryce & Poser Absolutely no postwork Regards Kostas

I agree. She and Sappho have influenced our Western culture very much. Yet I must say that Xanthippe is better known than Aspasia and she... And then there's Phryne...GREAT work. And I love that kore-like hair.

Excellent work! on everything. The only thing your missing is the seperation lines in between marble blocks, but I did not know if you thought of the floor and pillars as a whole or as individual pieces put together. A good historic artist to look at about marble is Alma-Tadima. He really captures the look. Great Piece, CHEERS!
