Description
The dwarves are back... this time at their daily work. Which is mining, for gold of course. In the shown scenery, they are still close to the surface, so don't wonder about the strange sounds below the floor 8)
I had this picture in mind for a whole year, and finally found the opportunity during my vacation to model all the mining stuff (lorry, lamp, tools, etc.). The actual rendering was quite time-consuming... the soft light sources ate about 11h in the 900x1200 version on my 3GHz PC. Hope you enjoy the result!

cool mood. Not very easy to dig & walk with the helmet, lol. Agree with ISSE for the light. ;-)

More light? It looks realistic the way the light is now. Great work just the way it is. :)

Fabulous artwork! I don't think it's too dark, however it might need some more contrast. I personally would light up the right half of the dwarve's face. This would add a little bit more tension to this scenery. Anyway a very good job - well done! :)))

Thank you all for your nice comments! Ok, you wanted a revision of light - and you get one. I think its less realistic, but helps emphasizing the details.

I didn't see this with the darker lighting, but excellent job; looks so closed in and claustrophobic, just the way a mine is...great image!
