Description

This is the right part of the triptych. In this part, the poses are ever more "Egyptian-like" than in the left part. The hands of the girls, and mostly, the legs of the leopards, which recall the pose of a famous couple of oxen in an Egyptian low-relief. The gifts here are even more exotic: leopards, colourful birds, and a couple of funny monkeys in the arms of the seated ladies. There is also a funny contrast between the roaring of the leopards, and the sarcastic smiles of the seated ladies, which lets us understand that the whole scene should not be taken too seriously ;-) also funny is the contrast of the antilopes in the left part, with the leopards in the right, each coming in the other ones' way :-) The little boy with the parrot is the only male figure in the scene, but as I said, since it's a child, he does not contrast with the concept of the Gynaeceum. Thanks for viewing! :-) Next, we'll turn around to see the other part of the upper floor, and the tow big frescoes along the stairs.

This is such a wonderous piece of work. Do you know who the artist was? Also, the 'goddess' wears Peonys in her hair which in China represents Royalty.
