Description

Canon 10D + Sigma 105mm EX Macro + 2x Teleconverter ISO 3200 f5.6 1/250 This shield bug reminded me of Starship Troopers. He started out on my doorstep before venturing up the martian landscape that is a brick wall. I didn't realise what pretty eyes they have. Possibly another shot to follow. Ehm.... I accidentally squished one of these today... he was crawling up my leg and I used my other leg to scratch... smush... stink... :( Anyways, fantastic macro, Stephen.. love the contrast of his green against the dark brick. =)

I tried to make a view shots of this creature yesterday but they were on leafs and the leafs wouldnt stop shaking because of the wind... so most of the shot werent that good. This shot however is more like it ! Excellent work !

You know, generally speaking, insects are gross... but you have such a talent at making them beautiful, shiny, colourful little critters! Excellent use of Macro - gotta get me one of those...
