Description

Toth Considers Toth may be impulsive where matters of lust--er, love--are concerned, but she considers carefully any new mercenary assignment. Gelli, an mercenary officer, has been given a commission for a clandestine mission from the local prince. It sounds interesting, although Annee has heard the spiel twice already--she was the first one recruited--and she is more interested in the blossoming tree than in what Gelli has to say to Toth. Rhoa, the "ample" lady in the helmet has also agreed to go and is resting against the wall for lack of anything better to do at the moment. Toth was interested at first, but there are missions and then there are missions. Spying the arrival of Kern, a dwarf warrier of rather unsavory reputation, is giving her second thoughts. Kern, unlike most dwarf males, is willing to fight alongside female warriors. Other male dwarfs won't let Kern fight with them because he is shorter than their own women, which is why he will fight alongside women. It's the fight that appeals to him, not who is fighting by his side. He is known for volunteering only for the nastiest missions, so his sudden presence is not a good omen. Kern is a dwarf warrior of the old school: no armor and just his trusty axe, Ankle Biter. Indeed, Ankle Biter is the nickname that people whisper to each other in reference to Kern, but never within his hearing. Apparently, as a novice warrior, he served in a human army and during his first battle ran through the enemy ranks chopping them down at the ankles, then returned to his own ranks doing the same. No, Kern's showing up is not a good sign. Figures in Poser 5 and rendered in Bryce 5. Credits: where to begin? Collisium is a free download, as is the small temple or shrine, which is by Ed Baumgarten. Trees in background are by Scott Tucker. I did the blooming tree in the courtyard. Cat texture is by Lyne Masamitsu. (wanted the cat was supposed to be slipping behind the column but the file trashed when I went to save it and I know it looks too big but it is a trick of perspective--the temple is a very small structure). Gelli's texture is by MaskEdit. Fantasybeard by Anton Kisiel (purchased at DAZ). Kern's head modeled by me, but rest of him (retextured by me) is a P4 figure by John Mallis. His skin and face textures from Nikita Creed's "Celtic Warrior" (purchased from Runtime DNA). Arduino did Rhoa's hair (even if you can't see it) and Gelli's hair is also by him. Some of Rhoa's armor is from "Fantasy Armor for Victoria 3," which can be purchased at Runtime DNA. Her most of her armour were freebies by Maveris (RDNA). Roman forum building is by woodhurst. "The Courtyard" is by Debbie M. and marforno. I'm sure I've forgotten someone, but it's late and my mind is getting whoozy. Apologies to anybody that I missed. Yep, I did! Gelli's and Rhoa's shoes are "RDNA Fantasy Separates Vol 2 - Dwarf Shoes" by John Malis and Traveler. I am grateful to all of you for your contributions. Thanks! And thanks for looking, too.

I was also going to have a human figure halting his approach to the courtyard with an "Oh, oh!" look on his face, but as I said, the file disappeared instead of being saved. Aaarrrraugh!

Starting with a much deserved VOTE, for excellent work; and a thanks for sharing. :-) Love your stories, Dwarves or matronaughts. A full sized human may have been fun, but more so a butt ugly male mercenary. Depending upon where you are going with your tale. (tail?). Yessir - a Toth tosser may be handy to have on hand - so to speak.
