Extraordinary shot of a Scorpion Fly. Scientists have big discordance about the fact to know if they belong to butterflies or dragon-flies order. On first, they seem to have one pair of wings but in reality they're coupled so they are four as dragons.. In twice, their body, leggs, head and trump is typicaly the one of Empis Tesselata and/or variables. This trump is a weapon which is used to go into the body of his prey. And on third, the antenas are not flys ones but looks more as butties one. Resuming, we can say that this is strange "fly" who seems to be on the crosspoint of different species. You must know that many flys as Empis Tesselata are predators or other flys but they glean flowers too. ................. And to end, I'll say that I'm happy you did this marvelous shot, the best I've see about this insect (and believe me, I've seen a lot !) so neat and so precise. I'll vote 100000 times if I could !
