Description

The finished article. I wiped all the blood, sweat, and tear stains off of it before I posted. ~lol~ Thanks for looking, and for any comments you'd care to drop off.

If it will photograph sharp enough, I bet that wood grain is awsome, and I bet a great close-up would make for a wonderful repeatable seamless tile pattern. drooling (but not on the guitar :D ... As it zooms in some, that is the right direction for exciting me -- I would love to see, an even almost way too, close shot, little bit rotated &c camera angle, an almost displaced view giving a composition of those machineries like a semi abstract and almost architectural pure design statement.

~lol~ The wood grain IS a tiled texture. This is a model I made in Rhino and rendered in Cinema 4D.

great picture of a stunning guitar apart from one critic - the mother of pearl inlays on the frets are wrong, should be one dot on frets 3,5,7,9,15,17,19 & 21 and the double dots on frets 12. Also is it meant to be an extended neck as it has 23 frets instead of the standard 21. only noticed as im a musician, i was lookin at it and couldnt tell what was wrong till i scrutinized it. Hope this helps.

Beautifull modeling and render. And appreciate the detail insert. Like all the fine texture work, but the metals especially are very convincing. Bravo.

DAMN! ~rofl~ I play guitar and I have no explanation as to how I messed up with the dot on 10 instead of 9, and yes, it is an extended neck. I took the fret pattern from a reference photo. Shame I didn't take as much care with my dots. That's another 6 hours of rendering down the can. Your comments are much appreciated.

The bridge is based on a Bigsby, mostly because it looks a lot cooler than the standard arrangement. You can see the version I took it from here... http://www.gruhn.com/features/white58V/EA1414.html I shoulda gone for the full "Lonnie Mack" version. That's even more humungous than the one I put on mine. ~lol~ I'm leaving the damn thing re-rendering overnight and I'll put up a corrected version with the dots in the right places tomorrow/today (it's 4 in the morning here) sometime

Very sharp modelling and point of view, that C4D render is quite outstanding (and clear!) and really brings the image to life. Especially like that floor texture and how it swirls around the model as you go farther up the image, nice dramatic effect.

First of all: very impressive! Good composition, good modelling, very good metal. Just one little thingy: I assume that there's tension on the strings, so I don't understand why the strings are parabola shaped at the base [in the detail view]. Not to make a complete fool of myself, I first checked the photos on the site you mentioned, and there I saw that the strings are straight at the base [http://www.gruhn.com/features/white58V/EA1414xc.jpg]. Just my 2 cents. But it still is an exceptional piece of modelling and rendering.

Truth be told, I probably did end up with a little too much curve on the strings. They would be curved around the "axle" and up to the bridge pieces, but maybe not as much as I have them here.

Slinger--Awesome! Glad to see you're modeling. I downloaded GMax to get my feet wet, but haven't had time to play yet. Screw your light sabre--I want one of these! Take care...t.c.
