Tiny and kinda pretty... :) I guess you know I'm not the right person to ask about bug(ger)s, can't help you there, but I do love the shot very much, especially that metallic glow on the fly's body. Superb macro :)

Actually his legs are still. The narrow DOF makes it look like he was wavering. :)

AWEsome, period. Those flies are beautiful, and that colour, that metallic and irridescent sheen just what I want to capture ... I have a 300D that I now use the most (and use my Tamron 28-300 zoom the most), and can use my 90 mm Tamron macro on it (I LOVE THAT lens!) but I just haven't had the chance to remotely get this very photo you have got. The naturally narrow DOF for such shots makes it crucial your focus lands in the right zone, and it did. You get a gold star. I will be watching to find out if anyone can I.D. this specie, too.

Most excellent image I think it is a "Lucilia caesar" but I'm not shure, You have to know that flys are mutate alreaddy in a short number of generation. Each years scientists are observing such mutation. This year I have shot a fly with Butty like wings. Whatever A great shot, and you can have info about this matter on a wonderful website "Garden safari" : http://www.gardensafari.net/first/flies.htm Have a nice day. V

Cool bug Matt. That little spacesuit he's got is really elegant!. Like the leaf serration too, the diagonal really adds something to the shot IMO.
