Description

Barrett, Gains, and I were on ghost duty. It was shortly after 2AM that the motion sensors went off. According to the sensors, something was moving around sub-level D. A quick check showed that all hands were currently located on the crew quarters level. It didn't take us long to decide the sensors were malfunctioning. We had run a complete sweep of the installation, when we arrived 9 days ago, and didn't even find an insect. Nothing could have entered the complex and made its way to sub-level D without tripping a dozen or more alarms. So, the only logical answer was a sensor malfunction. I was rather bored so volunteered to check it out. I took the lift down to D and stepped out into the gloom of the inadequate lighting that is the hallmark of the lower levels. I started toward the motion sensor, mounted to my left, when I thought I heard a noise to the right. I guess I was a little jumpy because my head snapped involuntarily to the right and I jumped like I'd been kicked in the seat of the pants. Nothing was there, of course, and I started to turn back toward the sensor. That's when the shadow slipped across me. I don't know what it was, but it was humanoid, it was huge, and it was coming right for me. Great composition.
Good lighting and a that menacing shadow is great.
She must be dreaming not having noticed the creature by now! 8-)

Good image... BUT I question the architect that makes a door open right into a pit! How many people do they lose in that pit?

Cool...that shadow is scary in itself.....probably more so than showing the creature itself. The unknown is always the most difficult to face. Bet she's not bored now. :O)

How do you get these images to look like this? This one looks like it's a page torn out of a 1800's sci-fi book or something....the colours are incredible! Needless to mention the lighting of course *wink! LOL! Hugs!
