Description

Can an airplane "damage" a cloud? This part of the corona cloud gives the answer. It shows a contrail (from the top to the bottom) with a shadow and a distrail (the "cloudcleaned" stripe from left to right). These distrails are formed, when an airplane fly through a thin cloud which diveds two levels of air with defferent temperature and huminity. The dryer air is mixed by the plane into the cloud and the distrail is formed. This inversed Contrail is not often to see. Comments are welcome. Best, Reinhard!
