Description

This is my tribute to one of my favorite movies, "The African Queen." Water texture is mine, as is the "Humphrey" figure--my first M3 figure. I didn't try to recreate Boggie. Texture is "FyrWerks Old Man" and includes Blue Jeans by Fyrene and the hair is "Short Curly Hair" by UD Hair for Zygote. The Queen model is by Helmet Schaub, although I completely retextured it using textures downloaded from the Net. The Reeds and Papyrus were originally Vue Alpha planes that I converted to Bryce Alpha Planes. Posable Croc is by BryceTech. I'm pleased with everything except the water ripples around the boat. I'll have to do a lot more work on that for sure. Thanks for looking.

How did you do the water ripples? Have you tried using a terrain for the water?

zescanner, Sorry, I honestly don't know. I was just messing around with a downloaded material as a base, which already had the ripple effect. I just changed the colors totally. I did it over six months ago and I can't remember how I did something yesterday! LOL! If you mean the lousy boat wakes, I (in desperation) used a couple of ring primitives set at 50 diameter, flattened and stretched out. The I added a couple of flattened spheres primitives turned 90 degrees and stretched a bit. Then I added a splash primitive and stretched it to fit and flattened to almost nothing. It didn't do what I had hoped, but it did make that ripple effect behind the boat, which I didn't expect. Still, the whole thing needs a total rework--like a wake primitive. Anybody heard of such a thing?

I really like this picture. The water mat is great, a real sense of muddy water. The ripples are good too in that they add a sense of pushing through a thick, very muddy water. The angle and POV is great.
