Mark Twain made some comments about self taught and I agree ... and it is not a "plan" *LOL* ...
It's supposedly more interesting perhaps ... bujt I don't recommend it ... and it adds up to nothing

hmmm.... looks pasted on? why? :] ... i wasn't suggesting that you didn't shoot the heron... i'm sure you did... he's a beaut... just wondering what you were doing here, maybe making the sky bluer... anyway... it looks fine... nothing wrong in making a great shot even better, just got to watch those lines... practice makes perfect... good job! :]

Cool! A critique! We seldom get to see that here. why: digital cameras and imaging technology still in their instantly antique infancy still suck ... JPEGs are pretty good, considering, but there's been some sharpening, I bet that's what makes you edgy (any of you who did not see that also, practice makes perfect with using eyes as well) ... oh I've had some practice L, should I get some more of it on this particular one by re-doing it again ? hmmmmm ... yyyyy-NO : because, I was recently up nearby Minnehaha Creek with another photographer and we discovered a juvenile heron up on a tree, could be a child of this bird - we both got a bunch of essentially the same shots of the same pose ... my shots with a Canon 300-D and a dying Tamron 28-300 lens all stink and can all be tossed in the cyberdump, because theirs made with an Olympus C-750 are all fantastically sharp and the colours are better too.
