Here are Chuck's personal words to the community:
I am a self-taught artist, formerly working in traditional or conventional media. For the last two years I have been experimenting with CG (Computer Graphics), and trying to transition from traditional/conventional media to digital imaging. In a few words, I simply love art and always have. Many of my images are "post-worked" by hand, re-scanned and manipulated in Photoshop. On occasion, I still use pencil, Prismacolor, Silverpoint, Pen & Ink or painting to achieve the desired effect. Whether executed the "old way" or the "new way" or a combination of both, which I often fall back on.
Art is art and it is the end result that is (hopefully) appreciated.

Chuck, this is just wonderful, both versions, but in this case I prefer this one with the paintbrush. Love everything in it, the background make me drool :-) and the egyptian motive is so wonderfully painted, and the frame...You are the master!!! BTW what is silverpoint drawing??

For Gunsan - Silverpoint is what the old masters used before pencils (pre-15th century). A solid silver wire or stylus was used on a coated surface, usually gesso or a limestone wash. The porosity of the surface pulls the silver off of the stylus and produces a fine line. To many, it looks like a hard lead pencil drawing, but it is quite different on close examination. Oh, and there is no "eraser" ;-)

So many layers of color, texture and meaning. For me, the brush adds even more poignance to the piece, but both are stunningly beautiful as always...
